Summary of Challenge: A local cable, phone and internet provider had an empty lot adjacent to their facility and wanted to use it to provide a space for their community to enjoy. They also wanted to create a separate space for their employees to enjoy during work breaks and for company gatherings. One of the biggest challenges was the need to have the project completed within 60 days of project approval.
Summary of Solution: We designed a solution that allowed for a community gathering space and a separate and private employee space. The natural, organic design incorporates hardscape with planting areas to create an open-air farmer’s market-type space. A large water feature serves to draw attention from the local main street through town and welcome those who enter. Plantings and lawn encompass the space to disguise the urban surroundings. Screened by plantings we also installed an employee area that includes a covered patio, fireplace, water feature, and plantings. Both spaces include low-voltage lighting to create a safe, enjoyable environment during the evening hours. Knowing the importance of the project timeline, we were able to deploy over half of our installation crews to get the project completed. We continue to provide weekly maintenance for this garden.
